How permitflow stays on the right side of the law
Under Canada's Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) section 91, only licensed professionals — regulated immigration consultants (RCICs), lawyers, and Quebec notaries — may represent or advise a person for a fee in connection with a Canadian immigration application.
What permitflow does (software / clerical)
- Explains official immigration rules published by the Government of Canada, across every program we support.
- Generates a personalized document checklist from your answers.
- Pre-fills form fields from information you enter — for you to review and submit yourself.
- Checks your own answers for internal inconsistencies.
- For points-based programs like Express Entry, calculates your score from the official published formula.
What permitflow never does
- Recommend which program or path you should choose.
- Tell you how to answer a question to obtain a particular result.
- Represent you or communicate with IRCC on your behalf.
- Submit your application for you.
How paid packages stay inside the boundary
permitflow may charge for software outputs: official-rule explainers, score calculations from published formulas, document checklists, form pre-fill previews, validation reports, saved workflows, and printable prep bundles. The fee is not for advice, strategy, representation, or IRCC submission.
What paid plans may include
- State official published Government of Canada requirements
- Calculate scores from official formulas using user-entered facts
- Generate document checklists from the user's selected program and answers
- Pre-fill forms from information the user entered for their own review
- Flag missing, inconsistent, or contradictory answers
- Route judgment calls to licensed RCICs, lawyers, or Quebec notaries
What paid plans must not include
- Recommend the best immigration program or pathway for a person
- Tell a user how to answer to improve approval chances
- Give a legal opinion about approval likelihood, admissibility, or strategy
- Represent the user, submit to IRCC, or communicate with IRCC for the user
- Access or request a user's GCKey, banking login, or IRCC account password
- Guarantee approval or imply special influence with IRCC
Escalate to a licensed professional when facts need judgment
- Prior refusal, misrepresentation concern, removal order, or procedural fairness letter
- Out-of-status period, unauthorized work or study, criminality, or medical inadmissibility
- Complex sponsorship facts, relationship genuineness concerns, or custody issues
- LMIA strategy, employer compliance, wage/classification judgment, or recruitment evidence
- Humanitarian arguments, reconsideration, appeals, or any discretionary remedy
When you need real advice
If your situation needs a judgment call, we point you to a licensed professional. Verify a consultant with the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC) and a lawyer with their provincial law society. Never share your GCKey password or banking login with anyone.
